Hydroleca has the appearance of hard ceramic “pebbles” with a smooth, dense outer skin and honeycomb interior, therefore they are very lightweight.
Hydroleca is used as a decorative topping for potted plants and it is ideal for use on roof gardens. It lightens the weight of potted plants on roofs and can also be mixed with the topsoil to make a lightweight planting medium.
It absorbs water and releases it slowly while at the same time providing insulation for plants due to its’ lightweight cellular structure.
