Paving Sand or Grit Sand often described as a coarse or sharp sand is a washed sand consisting of a higher percentage of larger particles and a lower percentage of finer particles than a typical building sand.
It provides good drainage and prevents uneven settlement and is ideal for use under paving slabs, brick pavers or cobbles. A compacted layer of 40mm is recommended for most paving applications.
Our Paving Sand, grey in colour is available in a Maxi Bag which when compacted will cover an area of approximately 12 square meters at a depth of 40mm.
Also available in a 25kg mini bag, ideal for situations where wheelbarrow access is not possible, i.e over a fence or through the house, or indeed for much smaller areas. For 1 square metre compacted to 40mm you will need approximately 3-4 mini bags.
