Rose Quartzite is quarried in the beautiful Glencolmcille in Co. Donegal.
Quartzite is one of the oldest and toughest metamorphic rocks in existence. It is formed when quartz rich sandstone is subjected to extreme heat and pressure over considerable time resulting in an extremely hard, tough and durable stone. Consequently its properties and its attractive colouring make it a popular choice for a wide range of applications within the building, engineering and landscape sectors.
Rose Quartzite chippings are widely used and ideal for driveways, garden pathways and as a decorative mulch on planted areas. The colour is light gold to brown and with a distinctive warm rose colour in the mix. The chip sizes available are 14mm and 20mm
We recommend the 14mm size for driveway use.
