Decorative slate is an excellent landscape material and lends itself to many garden applications including ponds, water features, pathways and as a decorative mulch on beds and borders. When used as a decorative mulch, slate helps to retain soil moisture, keep roots cool in summer and warm in winter. It is also an excellent weed suppressant.

The colour of Jade Green slate has a distinctive soft Grey-Green tone providing an excellent contrast against plants with darker coloured foliage. The colour of this stone deepens when wet.
