Biodegradable non woven Extruded PLA Groundcover

Description

A cost effective and eco-friendly solution for weed suppressing in planting schemes without the need for harmful herbicides.

This non-woven biodegradable PLA felt is needle punched to allow rainwater through. Easy to use and quick to install. Ideal for any planting scheme, including hedges.

The product acts as a mulch to hold in moisture and warmth to the plant roots whilst giving the young plants optimal time to establish without having to compete with vigorous weeds. The material is completely biodegradable and will last for 24-36 months at which time the young plants will have become established.

What is PLA?

PLA (polylactic acid) is a 100% bio compostable bioplastic. The basis of PLA is corn starch which is produced by grinding bushels of corn. The starch is then hydrolyzed into glucose at high temperature. Glucose undergoes bacterial homolactic fermentation to become lactic acid. This acid is then purified and then condensed and polymerized by fermentation.

Benefits :

– Easy to cut
– Not dusty
– Very good mechanical resistance
– Excellent mulching effect
– UV resistant

– Lifespan 24 to 36 months depending on the place of application

– Mass: 100g/sqm
